Basketball D.N.A

A recent sport shoe advertisement featuring Rookie of the Year Andrew Wiggins

Basketball is a the only sport that those with a distinct physical advantages or advanced fundamentals can make up mistakes by dominating the game down the line on offense and defense. Basketball also offers intense rewards for the individuals who add a new dimensions of athletic ferocity or mental complexities to the way the game is played. Each of whatever top 20 players you could name in the National Basketball Association add one or either both dimensions. The greatest always add both. Michael Jordan is blueprint for exhibiting how much you can truly dominate when you bring many new wrinkles to the game of Basketball.

Here we are waiting for the new Basketball heir to the throne make his presence known. The thing about that is the wait is over.

Looks like a new wrinkle to me...

That picture up there is a example on how this every evolving Basketball D.N.A continues to add something new to the game. Haters are going to say it's just two points. I am going to say two points yes and 21 million views on social media, millions of shoes getting sold, tickets getting bought, rookie of the year getting got, defenders moving to South Africa when he drives to the basket. So again it is not just two points add the fact that he is a lockdown defensive guru and you have a new guy running the show in 2 years. Kobe Bryant said, "it was like looking into a mirror" when playing against Wiggins. However he said this before Wiggins starting poking out on everyone.

Basketball has a D.N.A it passes along the good traits and adapts by mutating more beneficial traits. Andrew Wiggins has a few more traits just like Lebron James did. Before James made his professional debut in NBA we had never saw power and speed in a player his size. Now with Wiggins he has speed and power, how ever his body control and jumping ability is on another level that I haven't seen before period. That is why I am giving him this early nod before the bandwagon gets so heaping big. I took flak for my Kobe and Lebron early prognostications, now no one remembers that not this time, I just laid Basketball D.N.A theory and practical concepts just to make sure we are clear this time.

Andrew Wiggins is the next Lebron James whether you like it or not

My instincts don't lie, I have seen this before. One time I was 16 and it felt good to throw the ball off the backboard to myself because that is what I saw soon to be superstar Kobe Bryant do. I thought to myself then is that this guy could be better than Michael Jordan one day. I was an little ham then so I went to the barbershop and started to spout my theory about Kobe, a few bad line ups later I realized I should find a Kobe fan to cut my hair. Then I saw Lebron James throw down his trademark tomahawk during ESPN nationally televised game. I was like this guy will be better than Kobe one day, again I headed down to the barber shop to spew this theory. Now I am here once again, no it wasn't Kansas University's Andrew Wiggins 41 point game today against West Virginia. It was that mixtape of his Senior year playing for Huntington Prep in ironically the state of West Virginia. You see I had only been to the barber shop once this year to shell out my theory about Andrew being better than Lebron James. So I am glad that I have more to add to my theory. I think it makes people feel some type of way when the dominant athlete of their generation gets compared to some young upstart. Its like finally really admitting that you are old and that their really maybe a better new and improved model. This will not change whether you like it or not. As far as basketball goes Mr. Wiggins is that new program upgrade at work that you don't like because it is new and different. Don't take him with the number one pick in the National Basketball Association draft, I dare you. -thegqlife

So yes I was right about the Dunk Contest

My predictions in my previous post was wrong about the other NBA All Star challenges. However I wasn't wrong about the Dunk Contest. As usual the crowd made it look more boring than it was and the celebrities were trying to look uber cool and some of the participates looked uninvolved. John Wall didn't look like that.

He came, he dunked, and he "dougied" his way to victory.

Like I said, he has been eyeing the event for years and showed out accordingly. I can still dunk to this day and I appreciate some good dunks the most. It's the reason I picked up a basketball. Next up will Lebron James win MVP of the actual All Star game? -thegqlife

2014 NBA All Star Weekend Predictions

All Star weekend has started in New Orleans, yesterday things kicked of with the celebrity game.Secretary of Education Arnie Duncan won the most valuable player award. Which was followed by the Rising Stars Challenge basically a rookie and sophomore all star game. Andre Drummond of the Detroit Pistons won the MVP of that game. Now on to my picks for the rest of the weekend's events.

Skills Challenge:
Pick: Reggie Jackson, Jackson has been great while Russell Westbrook is out so I am picking him to win a competition where the fundamentals count.

3 Point Shoot Contest:
Pick: Stephen Curry, those that know me know I typically don't like basketball players that won't dunk on opposing players. However Mr. Curry is most watch television due to his range on his jump shot. Not since Larry Bird have I seen a player who lights it up from deep the way he has lighten it up in the league.

Slam Dunk Contest
Pick: John Wall, this is the only pick that was really hard for me. It's hard because back in the 1980s players could go get hammered and still jump from the free throw line and slam the ball home. Now with 1 million social media followers and tremendous financial wealth players either play around and don't take the contest seriously or they act like they don't care if they look bad. Not saying that would happen this year but I don't know who will hang out get all kinds of fried and not perform in the dunk contest. Could be anyone, I am picking John Wall because I know he has been eyeing the contest since he came in the NBA he just wasn't healthy enough to be in it.

2014 All Star Game MVP
Pick: Lebron James, you would have to think at this point All Star MVP trophies wouldn't matter for Lebron. Not true look for him to make a statement and bring the East All Star back if they are behind.

Lebron James must play in the NFL as Optimus Prime to combat Calvin Johnson's Megatron

Imagine this, Lebron wins a 4th Championship, he signs a long term deal with the Miami Heat small story until he announces he will enter the 2014 NFL Supplemental Draft. With the first pick in the draft the North Carolina Panthers select Lebron James only "Athlete" appears by his position in the preseason presses. James jokingly says in the first press conference that they should just refer to him as "Optimus Prime". James would be excellent as a wide receiver, tight end, quarterback, or defensive back. He will dominate in the open field and challenge for a touchdown all the time. It would supercharge the NFL and the NBA as James joggles the team's schedule. I know the strong hater in many of you only can see people doing one thing excellent. That is so backwards the year 1990 thinking.

Lebron would be the perfect spoil to the Detroit Lions's wide receiver Calvin Johnson. Megatron can't go unchecked in our universe. Even if he has taken the form of a 6'6 metal man with Bugatti speed. So suit Lebron I know you want to... -thegqlife

How the Pistons need to play next season

The Detroit Pistons have a squad. Who is going to be the starting point guard for the team is the biggest concern. Starts whoever hits the open jumper and gets the ball to their talented trio of Josh Smith, Andre Drummond, and Greg Monroe easy looks and dunks. Will Bynum could start, Chauncey could, B. Jennings, Peyton Silva it doesn't matter. The Pistons as assembled are comparable to a National Football League team that with Larry Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson, and Tony Gonzalez, no quarterback would be able to mess that up. No point guard could mess up what the Pistons have either.

So when you see me start Peyton Silva for the Pistons, just know it doesn't matter who starts at point.
