It will be summer soon, I know it doesn't feel like it right now. Soon it will be hot and will people will be out a lot more. They will definitely go to the movies. Due to the current state of technology available to movie studios. Any vision of anything can be produced. Want to see Batman sneak punch Superman, you can get that on the screen. Like to see how 50 Shades of Grey would look in person, you get that too. Heck you want to know what Unicron for the Transformers would look like punching the moon, I think you get my point. With all of our favorite creative works getting big or small screen treatment, (Walking Dead I see you boy!). I thought it was time to do a draft of sorts for Hollywood using movies that will get made in the next five years given Hollywood's new willingness to reach outside of the box. I am doing this just like a mock draft so I will be taking the best talent available to get the most bang for the dollar for whatever project is picking first. Since all of them want to make at least one hundred million dollars for their opening weekend I am going with best talent, situation, and movie to figure out who picks where. Okay let's begin.
1. Cleopatra
Pick: Beyonce' Knowles as Cleopatra, when Cleopatra the movie was finished in 1963 it was at a cost of 44 million dollars. I am sure Beyonce' made that this year, who else do you think could play this part? I am waiting because you have no one that is a real life Queen like her. It goes without saying but I will say it anyway, "bow down".
2. Batman versus Superman
Pick: Denzel Washington as Jon Stewart the second Green Lantern from Earth, this pick would cement Ben Affleck's and Henry Cavil's movie. A Denzel Washington as ex-marine fresh from Iraq as a second Green Lantern would give this film a boost that would have people standing in line starting now.
3. X-Men Apocalypse
Pick: Dwayne Johnson as Apocalypse who else fits the description of an Egyptian that is 8 feet tall with and a God Complex how about the dude who played Scorpion King, this will give the "Rock" a chance to cook or screen and have some creative fun.
4. Justice League Movie
Pick: Ian Joseph Somerhalder as Damian Wayne, oh I get it Justice League is really inside of the Batman vs. Superman movie. Get over that, just know that if D.C. Comics wants to really compete they will have to pull off moves like this, where they set up the future by adding unexpected characters. No more unexpected than the son of Batman. Besides I think Somerhalder plays a pretty good brooding Damien already of Vampire Diaries.
5. Justice Society of America
Pick: Kevin Hart as Mister Terrific, this would be a real treat to watch, it would remind me of when Robert Downey Jr. got the chance to play Iron Man, a role that is tailored made for a man to battle his demons while having his technology fill in for a date or two. Kevin Hart would excel in this role I am sure due to Mr. Terrific being a superhero that is invisible to all electronics.
6. Independence Day 2
Pick: Will Smith as Captain Steven Hiller, you don't do this movie without Will Smith. You just don't, you will do your numbers, this is a movie that everybody who has ever seen a Will Smith movie really wants to see.
7. Entourage
Pick: Danny McBride as Danny McBride, I think after watching HBO's "East Bound" add him to Entourage and watch hilarity ensue.
8. Assassin's Creed Liberation
Pick: Rihanna as Aveline de Grandpré an French African twenty something that is a assassin for a mysterious order that has been around since the dawn of man and it's set during the slave era. This role was made for her, people may have never experienced this video game set in the Assassin's Creed universe, but this well surely get made at some point, why not have Rihanna on deck for this one.
9. Bay Watch
Pick: Kim Kardashian as C.J. Parker, they are remaking Bay Watch as a movie. Let's not pretend we don't know why everyone watched it for 4 years straight it was sexy. Let's just start with this buzz worthy home run.
10. James Bond 24
Pick: Christian Bale as the lead Bond villain, a nemesis to bond that is Bale is definitely sequel worthy.
