NFL Mock Draft 2014 Version 1.0

Oh yes for folks like me also known as Detroit Lions Fans, Houston Texans Fans, and Jacksonville Fans these coming months are the most exciting. Not the Superbowl or playoffs, but the months leading up to the annual NFL draft. The teams I mentioned always get high draft picks, however unlike basketball a high draft pick doesn't guarantee success right away. It takes years sometimes or in Detroit's case decades to get the right mix of players. So let's start mocking my draft.
1. Houston Texans
Pick: Johnny Manziel, this pick might not get made any other year, but since Russell Wilson has a Superbowl ring and that notion of shorter quarterbacks can't get the job done has been debunked sort of, the Texans take Manziel here. He is a little Brett Favre, a little Mike Vick, with a whole lot of "you only live once" at anytime when he is playing out there in a broken play and making the impossible seem possible. all wrapped up in one. I had my nephews watch a game of his, they paid attention the whole time. Not saying they can't pay attention but Johnny Football genuinely entertained them.

2. St. Louis Rams
Pick: Jake Matthews, is Sam Bradford really bad, I just think he needs more help he gets it with the big hauss from Texas A&M.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars
Pick: Jadeveon Clowney, he the chance to be J.J Watt good, or he could be a under achieving player for most of his career. Which could lead Jacksonville taking the prize they cover the most a quarterback by the name of Jameis Winston in 2015. Oh you think Jameis Winston is coming back for all of his years of eligibility? Yes okay believe that and there some Florida land I want to sell you.

4.  Cleveland Browns
Pick: Teddy Bridgewater, yes the browns need something, anything between them and the Lions I don't know who is worst. Cleveland how ever hasn't had a great quarterback since I have been alive. Take Bridgewater and hope he can handle the title of savior while actually having someone to throw to since Cleveland's receiver corps are actually good.

5. Oakland Raiders
Pick: Mike Evans, I think he has a chance to be Megatron good. He is big and athletic while he does not look super fast on the field. I think he will run a 4.34 in the forty yard dash. That will make him Oakland's pick.

6. Atlanta Falcons
Pick: Anthony Barr, I know they need help some of everywhere but I think this is your guy. A linebacker is where this team can start.

6. Tampa Bay
Pick: Sammy Watkins, I feel like Aresenio Hall in Coming to America, saying Watkins don't ask why because I don't quite remember the correlation. I do know Watkins is fast and can be this year's Tavon Austin. Mike Glennon may make some noise down there.

7. Minnesota Vikings
Pick: Tahj Boyd, he did everything for a quarterback could do. I believe he provides long term upside. Plus I just wanted to type the words long term upside.

8. Buffalo Bills
Pick: Justin Gilbert, The Bills have a quarterback of the future, some decent receivers, and the defense isn't to shabby. However they could use what every team in the NFL could use. A shutdown corner. Gilbert could be Patrick Peterson like so I have him slotted here.

10. Detroit Lions
Pick: Marqise Lee, the blazer from University of Southern California just has to be able to run a good route here and there. Also he will get separation in coverage with would finally bring that saftey that sits at the goal line to close in on Calvin withouth paying much attention to the Lions other recievers. With Calvin Johnson getting doubled-teamed all day should this would also make Matthew Stafford's job easier. Lee your new nickname is Starscream.

11. Tennessee Titans
Pick: Khalil Mack, the motor in this small school guy is a Ferrari hybrid. This would be the best defensive prospect the Titans have had since Javon Kearse

12. New York Giants
Pick: Eric Ebron, the tight end from University of North Carolina, Eli needs a receiver and some blocking up front do him a favor a get both in Ebron.

13. St. Louis
Pick: Kelvin Benjamin, Sam Bradford needs another weapon get another big target to go alongside of Tavon Austin.

14. Chicago Bears
Pick: Ryan Shazier, this defense needs a Midwestern linebacker that like can do an A. J. Hawk impression, which is really just a good Brian Urlacher impression.

THAT FACE MASK THOUGH..

15. Pittsburgh Steelers
Pick: Louis Nix, the Steelers need to put pressure on the quarterback, if the NFL lets him keep his face mask that would be enough pressure right there.

16. Baltimore Ravens
Pick:  Brandin Cooks, my man is an upgrade and comes with great breakway speed Joe Flacco could use a another force to line up with Torrey Smith.

17, Dallas Cowboys
Pick: Devin Gardner, Whether or not he plays quarterback or becomes the second receiver opposite Dez Bryant depends entirely on Tony Romo.

18. New York Jet
Pick: Jace Amaro, someone Geno throw the rock and get some pass blocking.

19. Miami Dolphins:
Pick: Taylor Lewan, they need protection just like almost everyone else.

20. Arizona Cardinals
Pick: Darqueze Dennard, let’s make this defensive back core only rivaled by the vaunted Seattle Seahawks team led by the dogmatic Richard Sherman and crew.

21.Green Bay Packers
Pick: Ha Ha Clinton Dix, the second Alabama player taken for the second year in the row. Adds much needed defense.

22. Philadelphia Eagles
Pick: D'Anthony Thomas, Chip Kelly lines him up all over the field like a secret weapon. Think Reggie Bush at USC and you get what will happen here.

23. Kansas City Chiefs
Pick:  Derek Carr, Andy Reid takes the best prospect available and has a change in direction in case his starter falters.

24, Cincinnati Bengals
Pick: Jordan Matthews, another receiver from Vanderbilt would help out A.J. Green.

25. San Diego Chargers
Pick: Brian Roby, they need corner help this Ohio State Buckeye is the best available.

26. Cleveland Browns
Pick: Josh Huff, the new quarterback needs receiver that is dangerous after the catch and will help the rookie mask weaknesses. Huff is a receiver that could provide that.

27. New Orleans
Pick: Calvin Pryor, the safety can be moved in to play weak side linebacker, as will be it long time since an impact defensive player was added to the linebacker corps and the secondary in New Orleans.

28, Carolina Panthers
Pick: Kony Ealy, Cam looked like he had fun during the Super bowl festivities…etc. Get a shutdown corner to put the kibosh on your division’s rivals aerial attacks. Besides their push rush has been in Chicago for the last few seasons.

29. New England Patriots
Pick: Michael Sam, the second bookend of the terrorizing Missouri Defense the defensive end could be just what the Belichick era needs to get people to stop scoring on them. This is a copycat league; only a few offenses need to add pieces. What does it matter if you can’t stop people from outscoring because your defense is porous?

30. San Francisco:
Pick: Ra’Shede Hageman, everybody says that Colin Kapernick needs better receivers. Colin went out and had a ball during Super bowl. He knows the problem isn’t the offense suffice to say, he seemed sure as #### it wasn’t his side of the ball. They need to pressure Russell Wilson, that’s were defensive tackle with Ndamukong Suh potential comes in.

Pick:
31.  Denver Broncos:
Pick: Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, Peyton Manning looked like he had fun after the super bowl. Suffice it to say the defense needs help. Grab a shutdown corner to let Peyton Manning go out on top.

32. Seattle Seahawks
Pick: Cyrus Kouandijo, slide him in on your line to give Russell all day to throw
What could you add to this team that it doesn’t have how about more protection. The rest of the league will bring more pressure this will counteract that.
